It's a strange thing to be present at the birth of a holiday. It's so bizarre that when I started seeing Summerween promotions online a few years ago, I convinced myself the concept must have existed before we started working on Alex Hirsch's Halloween-in-the-Summer episode idea.

But Alex's wonderfully weird brain birthed Summerween and, though some were skeptical, I was instantly on board. I LOVE Halloween. And I was as desperate as he was to do a Halloween episode.
