Here's more of Alex Kirwan's "behind-the scenes" artwork as he tries to figure out X-Plor-R.

He hit a bit of a snag and it was all my fault. I wanted the sentient satellite to be BIG. Big enough that it could pose a legitimate threat to Earth. But this was also Jenny's debut and we wanted to SEE her. If X-Plor-R was GIGANTIC then Jenny would have to be puny.

Having caused the problem, I felt good when I was able to offer a solution - Show Jenny twice. Show her in relation to the behemoth spacecraft and then "Zoom In" almost like the reader has a telescope to look through.

You can see we also get a close up on X-Plor-R's face as an extra benefit of the "Zoom In." After seeing all the various designs and options, I really wished I could share them all. And now I can!

If you've enjoyed the writing and sense of humor from the MLaaTR story, you'll get more of the same in The Horrible Bag of Terrible Things. Plus a heaping helping of horror! Perfect for Halloween.
